About The Coffee

West Coast Roast is a beautifully balanced blend of some of our most stellar coffees in the roastery right now. Inspired by our love of the Hebrides, we roast this one to its brightest, sweetest best. Perfect for filter.

Producer Armando Sanchez, a member of the Huadquiña Co-operative in Santa Teresa, Cusco grows coffee on the mountains behind Machu Picchu
This coffee is the result of a direct trade partnership between Glen Lyon and Huadquiña established at the end of 2024 and we are delighted to now have this coffee in our roastery here in Aberfeldy and hope this partnership will thrive over the coming years.

Bochesa washing station is located in the Sidama Region, East Sidama Zone, Arbegona Wereda, Bochesa Kebele, sitting at an altitude of 2000m–2100m. The station was established in 2022 on 1.5 hectares of land and continues to expand with future investment plans. The station employs six permanent workers, four seasonal employees, and 220 temporary laborers. Annually, it processes between 500 and 600 tons of cherry sourced from 823 farmers. To support sustainability and social welfare, the station provides coffee seedlings to the local community and offers financial support and premium payments to farmers based on coffee deliveries.

Glen Lyon coffee

Glen Lyon Coffee was set up by Fiona Grant in 2011 at the top of one of the most beautiful glens in the Scottish Highlands. She installed a five-kilo roaster in the bothy next to her house and started selling small batch roasts at local farmers markets. The first years were the hardest, with no staff and no heating in the bothy through the winter. The biggest challenge was getting lorries to deliver green coffee along 10 miles of single-track road, with several having to be regularly dug out of snow drifts!

In 2014 we moved the roastery lock, stock and barrel to Aberfeldy, a cool little town on the banks of the River Tay. Here we invested in a 12 kilo Probat roaster (which we still use today alongside our 25 kilo Probat) and employed our first team member to help roast and deliver barista training. The business has grown steadily and we are now a team of ten, supplying freshly roasted speciality coffee across Scotland and beyond.

Our roastery is a bright and airy space with plenty of room for two Probat roasting machines, a cupping lab, a retail and café area and outside decking for seating and events. We are open to the public for coffee, pastries, beans and merch Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
