About The Coffee

This caturra lot was carefully picked and then hand-sorted to remove any defects by Esther and her family. Afterward, the coffee was pulped and washed to completely remove the mucilage. The coffee was then sun-dried for 15 days in concrete patios. Esther Sampertegui is a coffee producer residing in Santa María, a community within the Jaén district and province of the Cajamarca department in Peru. This region, situated at an altitude of 1700 m.a.s.l, boasts a cold climate with strong winds, creating ideal conditions for cultivating high-quality coffee renowned for its exceptional aroma and flavor.

Esther lives with her husband and children, nurturing a dream of seeing them succeed as professionals and become valuable members of society. A highly active and organized woman, Esther is a passionate coffee producer with a thirst for knowledge about coffee cultivation. In 2025, Esther embarked on a journey to deepen her understanding of coffee harvesting and post-harvest techniques to produce the finest coffees in Peru. She finds immense satisfaction in sharing her success with her neighbors and family, knowing that her coffees are being exported and recognized by international roasters. This achievement fills her with pride and motivates her to continually strive for improvement.

Our approach to roasting is essentially identical to our approach in our coffee shop. To have a constantly changing selection of high grade speciality coffee, and be honest and approachable about selling it.
