Midnight Flyer is a fully washed coffee that was cultivated by 300 - 500 smallholders in the Rwenzori mountains of Uganda at elevations of 1400 - 2000 m.a.s.l. The lot was processed and exported by Agri Evolve.

Smallholder farmers in Uganda work very hard to provide food, and earn an income for their families. The challenges are many, and yet the potential is substantial. Agri Evolve is playing  a significant role in enabling farmers to develop that potential, and to farm in a profitable and sustainable way. Presently their main activity is in the coffee sector, but they also work with beekeepers and are looking to become involved in other areas of farming.

Founded in 2016, Agri Evolve was the result of an observation of the local coffee market: farmers had the coffee, but lacked basic harvesting and processing facilities. On top of this, traders in the area only payed low, cash-in-hand prices, leaving producers unable to improve their own product.

Agri Evolve emerged as an alternative practise, establishing itself as a place to sell unprocessed cherries for a fair market price. Agri Evolve export green coffee to coffee roasters and coffee companies around the world, they presently work with over 15,000 smallholder farmers to improve yields, increase income and raise the quality of life for farmers, their families and their communities.

Not only that, but the funds made from exportation are funnelled back into programs focusing on training, education, facilities, and equipment all for the farmers to use to increase their yield and profits.

Agri Evolve have  been importing some of the best coffee from the Rwenzori region of Uganda to the UK since 2018. During this time they have worked directly with the farmers to improve their production of speciality arabica coffee which is now regarded as some of the very best in East Africa.
