Our latest version of Anthem Blend features coffees from 2 amazing coffee producing countries: Brazil and Mexico, with stunning flavour notes of cacao and chocolate, forest fruit jam, and macadamia nuts, all wrapped in a syrupy texture with a molasses aftertaste.
To achieve the right intensity to the blend, we have selected a Brazilian coffee, Bossa Nova. The Bossa Nova regional blend comes from Cerrado and Sul de Minas. Both regions are well known for their coffee production. Cerrado is a vast tropical savanna in Brazil’s centre that spans almost 2 million square kilometres. It is recognized as the most biodiverse prairie in the world with approximately 10,000 different plant species.
Today, Cerrado is one of Brazil’s most productive coffee regions for consistently high-quality coffee. Sul de Minas is the largest coffee-growing region in Brazil, about 30% of the country’s coffee is grown here.
This lot of Mundo Novo and Catuai cultivars was processed using the traditional natural method and boasts nutty notes wrapped in a chocolaty texture.
To balance the blend with a rounded fruity mouthfeel, nothing better than the sweetness of the Central American coffee from Mexico.
Amidst the mountains of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas, the community of Santo Domingo la Cascada was founded.
Sourced from our friends from Caravela, we are very proud to introduce the group of very interesting female small-scale coffee growers based in Chiapas surroundings.
Las Tejedores (the weavers) are women that continue the deep-rooted Mayan traditions through fine textile arts.
Their long-standing artistic culture also amplifies their powerful voices and extraordinary stories that are the core of their community and collective work. Through this coffee, we want to highlight the stories of Las Tejedoras: as coffee growers and textile weavers.
This coffee was processed using the traditional washed method, it’s clean, sweet, and approachable, with flavours of dark chocolate, cocoa, and vanilla and marzipan aroma.
The overall cup is bursting with fruit notes such as blackberry and raspberry, with a stewed plum and raisin sweetness emphasising the syrupy body. Hints of hazelnut, macadamia nut and milk chocolate shine through the flavour, finishing with subtle hints of citrus. Simply said: a complex and balanced coffee.
