About The Coffee

This naturally processed Ethiopian from Makuriya Wako displays juicy blackcurrant and sweet sherbet notes throughout, developing into pink grapefruit as the cup cools slightly.

Makuriya Wako inherited his farm from his family and has expanded his land over the years to the current size of 3.895 hectares. He is dedicated to implementing Good Agricultural Practices and receives support from Sucafina Ethiopia agronomists who provide personalized recommendations for his farm.

Makuriya utilises regenerative farming practices that protect and improve the soil. He planted shade trees to protect coffee trees and improve coffee quality. He also selectively handpicks ripe, red cherry and processes it on his farm, placing cherry on raised beds to sun dry, raking cherry frequently to ensure even drying. It takes approximately 22 to 30 days for cherry to dry.
