About The Coffee

For the 2025 edition, we have a 50/50 blend of two coffees from the Americas. Brazil Eagle Monte Carmelo is a coffee grown and processed to show off the classic profile of the Cerrado Mineiro region. Grown at 800-1200masl, this lot has been naturally processed. A portion of the profits at the farm are invested in programs that promote gender equality and empower women in the field.

The other half is made up ofCosta Rica Finca Casa de Piedra.A family business, founded in 2013 by father daughter duoGerardo and Jennifer Arias. The farm is dedicated to the production, processing, and marketing of the finest Costa Rican Tarrazú coffees in harmony with the environment. A variety of lots are produced here, and we have gone with the washed, red catuai for the Christmas Blend.

Our Story

Founded by Nathan & Ameeta in Oxford, the first coffee shop opened in 2012 and quickly gained a reputation as one of the best shops in the city. A second shop was secured in Birmingham, Ameeta's hometown, a few years later; which became the first independent coffee roastery in the city when they moved to Birmingham permanently.

Since then, Quarter Horse Coffee has ethically sourced and roasted the highest quality of beans from around the world and, in 2023, opened a dedicated new site for production and training with a focus on sustainability.

Building coffee relationships

Buying 'direct' does not necessarily mean that we are dealing only with the farmer him/herself, but it contains all the benefits of doing such. We support sustainable growth on all stages in the supply chain, ethical trading, and encourage pricing averaging three times that of Fairtrade.

Sustainable Coffee Sourcing

We source our green coffee through importers who work directly with the farmers, to develop lasting relationships with the people growing the beans, and create positive development at origin. This allows us to deliver coffee that is both ethically sourced, and of the highest quality.
