About The Coffee

A word from our Head of Coffee, Siala:

This is our first year working with Daye Bensa coffees, though we've long admired the quality of the coffees we would see from them.

The Rumadamo station, in Arbegona woreda of the Sidama zone, where Teleporter comes from, is located in southern of Ethiopia. This is an area well known for exceptional coffees, and Ethiopia Cup of Excellence coffees, have often originated here. The station sits at around 2300masl with cherries arriving from the surrounding areas 2100-2400masl. The station staff deliver consistently excellent coffees, with clean processing at the forefront of what they do.

Daye Bensa work to ensure fair and appropriate renumeration for their producer partners. They pay above the local market price to incentivise producers to sell high quality cherry to them, and offer second payments as premiums. Each station farmer is taught best farming practices including how to make good compost, and they have access to free seedlings. They believe firmly not only in the success of their business, but in the overall betterment of Ethiopia's coffee industry as a whole.

Our main goal here at Elsewhere Coffee is to generate and cultivate positive impact in the lives of the communities we source our single origin coffee from.

Quality sourcing is at the very heart of what we do and it's important to us to be able to offer a vibrant and diverse range of coffees sourced from all over the globe!

We created our brand in 2019, right in the midst of a global lockdown, so it's safe to say we’ve come a long way! Our coffee is now enjoyed in cafes, restaurants, offices and homes all over the UK and beyond!

Every bean is hand roasted with care in our South East London roastery and we always ensure that all of our coffee is responsibly and ethically sourced. We work meticulously throughout our supply chain to make certain that your coffee is good for the growers, workers and of course, the environment. All of this is very important to us, as well as making sure it consistently tastes fabulous!
