This November we created a blend to delight every coffee drinker, whether you prefer filter or espresso, a classic black brew or a comforting milky cup. It’s the perfect companion for cold yet cosy festive days.

Once again, we welcome November and the arrival of the winter season with our warmest blend of the year. 

If you believe that variety is the spice of life, this one’s for you. Our Coffee of the Month gives us the chance to explore wonderfully diverse coffees from around the world.

This month’s blend brings together two origins from Central and South America: Colombia and Guatemala. We’ve carefully selected small-scale coffee growers whose exceptional farming practices bring the finest flavours to every cup.

The first component of the blend was sourced with the help of our importing partner, Caravela. We chose a lot produced in La Plata, in the Huila region of Colombia.

La Estrella del Ostro takes its name from the “Star of the Southern Wind,” which shines above the mountain range where this coffee is grown. On clear nights, this bright star points towards the summit of La Plata.

What began with a few small-scale producers from the township of Belén has grown into a thriving network of contributors. Agriculture is at the heart of the region: coffee, plantain, rice, and cacao are the main crops, and the area’s rich biodiversity is nourished by the Aguacatal, La Plata, and Paez rivers, along the western slopes of Colombia’s central mountain range.

This lot combines Castillo, Caturra, and Colombia varieties, all sun-dried on parabolic covered patios and raised beds. Expect a fruity cup with layers of caramel and cocoa, and bright notes of red apple, orange, kiwi, and cranberry.

To complement the vibrant Colombian profile, we selected a lot from Guatemala, sourced through our partners at Primavera Coffee. Their work focuses on connecting us with excellent coffees from independent producers and cooperatives, always striving to maximise value for farmers, strengthen communities, and ensure full traceability.

The Primavera Family Lot is a unique blend created from 10–15 producers in the Huehuetenango region. Some of these producers have small lots that are too limited to stand alone as microlots, so combining them allows for better pricing, helping farmers reinvest in their farms and wet mills.

This coffee features Bourbon, Caturra, Catuaí, Pache, Typica, and Catimor varieties, traditionally washed to produce a clean, sweet cup.

Enjoy subtle notes of red apple and cranberry, a sweet milk chocolate mouthfeel, and a nougat finish with a distinct rosehip aftertaste.
